Siso siblings knock on finals door in Langkawi tennis event

-

The Siso siblings moved one step closer to the finals after fending off their respective rivals in the quarterfinal round of the Langkawi International Age-Group Tennis Championships, the last leg of the 2007 Malaysian Junior circuit.

Niño Siso clobbered Korean Lim Hong Tae, 8-1, to grab a semifinal ticket in the boys 14-under class.

In the other court, Sally Mae “Em-em” Siso was also too much to handle for Korean Lee Chan Mi and walked away with an 8-1 blowout.

Niño will face next Malaysia’s Ahmad Deedat for a final berth, while his younger sister Em-Em will tackle Turkmenistan’s Maya Mametguliyeva in the distaff side.

Also, the Siso siblings are aiming to hurdle their doubles match and get a chance to play in the finals. They hope go home with a double victory in Langkawi.

Another Cebuano bet, Krissianne Kintanar, was still playing as of this writing last night. The fourth Pinoy competing in Malaysia in Marian Capadocia failed to sustain her momentum and bowed out in the preliminary round.

The other Cebuano entries, Vince Marc Tabotabo and Jacob Lagman, headed back home after the Penang leg.

Tabotabo is currently in the United States for another competition, while Lagman opted to stay home as he doesn’t want to skip a lot of classes especially that he is a graduating student at St. Benedict Childhood Learning Center. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
