Cebuano riders test skills in bikefest

Cebuano riders are girding up for tough challenge from  mountainbikers around the country including the members of the national mountainbiking team currently training in Danao when the 9th National Sandurot Mountainbike Race unfolds on November 17 in Dumaguete City.

The said contest features two mountainbike events - cross-country and downhill.

Mountainbikers that compete in the cross-country will be divided into 10 categories including the open expert, sport, masters, veterans, juniors, beginners, women, fatboys, golden boys and kids.

There is age limit in five of the ten categories. The masters class will be for riders 35 to 40 years old, the veteran division for 25-34, the junior class is for 24-below, the golden boys are for riders 50-above and the kids division are for ages 14 and below.

The fatboys division has no age limit but contestants must have a minimum waistline measurement of at least 36 inches.

The downhill competition, on the other hand, will have four divisions - open expert, intermediate, hardtail and executive class.

All classes in the downhill event have no age limit except for the executive class, which is for riders ages 35 years old and above.
