Mufflerhaus Denso tops 1st Y101 Corporate Cup
Mufflerhaus Denso failed to match its opening round output, but still made enough to bag the top honors for the premiere Platinum Division of the 1st Y101 Corporate Cup, which ended yesterday at the Cebu Country Club.
Mufflerhaus Denso had rounds of 114 and 105 for a total of 219 points. The team was composed of Gabriel Yap, Jr., Collin Go, Anthony Bejar and Albuen Bejar.
First runner-up honors went to MOF Company Inc. with 217 points on rounds of 105 and 112. The team won the award after edging Millennium Shipping in the countback.
MOF was manned by Eric Deen, Carl Almario, Evans Tumaliwan, Mark Dy. Millennium Shipping was composed of Toby Florendo, Dino yap, Jaime Antunez, and Steve Benitez.
The awards ceremony of the tournament was held last night at the ballroom of Cebu Country Club.
Gold Division
Carlos Palanca Foundation came from behind to bag the title for this category with a total of 195 points on rounds of 92 and 103.
The team was manned by Jimmy Sy, Danny Deen, CCC president Douglas LuYm, and Hannah Palanca.
First runner-up honors went to Ford-Cebu, which also sponsored the hole-in-one prize. The team scored a total of 192 points on rounds of 93 and 99. The players were William Hong, Jet Hofer, George Hong, and Max Borromeo.
Vanex Trading finished as second runner-up with 191 points by scoring 92 and 99. The team was led by Ramon Sebastian and its other members were Tony Tankaw, Ang Chiong, and Junnie Cimafranca.
Silver Division
The title for this third-ranked category went to C.A. Gothong with a two-day total of 186 points on rounds of 85 and 101.
The team was composed of Ben Gothong, Edmund Ynson, Jack Go, and Eking Jereza.
Eyecrafter finished second with 180 points after slipping past Sulpicio in the countback. Eyecrafter had rounds of 84 and 96 while Sulpicio made 85 and 95.
Eyecrafter was manned by Loloy Soriaga, Bucth Macachor, Tony Garcia, and sim Guinocor. Sulpicio was composed of Bruno Gonzalez, Max Tan, Bnson Chua, and Vicente Sy.
Special Awards
Eric Deen bagged the lowest gross title with a two-day effort of one-over-par 71 points on rounds of 36 and 35. He won it after edging Ramontito Garcia in the countback.
Lowest net honors went to Jovi Nri, who fired rounds of 37 and 40 for a total of five-under-par 77 points.
Four players were recognized for scoring the most birdies with four each. They were Montito Garcia, Joseph Stevens, Jr., Eric Denn, and Mark Dy.
