Cherifer tournament coaches to grace SCOOP forum today

All the coaches who will participate in the Cherifer Tangkad Sagad 12 years old and under basketball tournament will grace the weekly SCOOP-Cebu forum at 12 noon today at the Baseline Restaurant.

Cebu tournament coordinator Vritt Carlo Reroma, a former San Beda Red Lion, said the coaches are invited so they will be informed on the complete details of the tournament, which is set on March 17 at the Don Bosco covered courts in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

The one-day tilt for aspiring hoopsters will promptly start at 8 am. All the competitors are advised to come to the venue at 7 am to get their upper jerseys.

Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael L. Rama, a basketball buff, has been invited as the guest speaker during the simple opening program.

Among the coaches expected to attend today's affair are Camilo Go of USPF, Delfin Pepito Jr. of Consolacion Central School, Jason Velez of PCGS, Peter Sta. Maria of Springdale, Clint Mondano of Royal Oaks International School, Galimar Largo of USC-North, Jojo Romarate of SCSIT, Ramel Ramso of SHS-Jesuit, Jesus "Boy" Remedio of Talamban Elementary School, Allan Ambrad of CEC, Robert Paclipan of SACS, Edito Salacut of USJ-R, Larry Villanil of Power Play and Rey Villagracia of host Don Bosco.

Meanwhile, 10 of the 16 teams which have already signified their intent to join the competition have already submitted their line-ups, the latest was USJ-R Basak Campus of coach Edito Salacut.

The USJ-R players are Rendell Thomas Senining, Kyle Rafael Ramas, John Paul Tabanas, Nicole Eugene Boholst, Cody John Macasero, Paul Vincent Torrecampo, James Nicole Franz Savellon, Michael Gio Ortiz, Fritz Kyle Mulit, Renzo Theodore Senining , Rofil Jun Dumogho, Joshua Cabaluna, William Jefferson Burato, Paul Christian Torrecampo and Michael Benedict Tuba.

Cherifer product manager Tom Meneses is coming over to witness the tournament that will be supervised by Edmundo "Ato" Badolato of San Beda Red Cubs, acclaimed as the winningest high school coach in the country who produced a lot of PBA players.(GGM)
