Tagbilaran pugs score wins in Atan Guardo Boxing

The Tagbilaran City Boxing squad saw seven of their nine pugilists winning their respective assignments in the Atan Guardo Cup Amateur Boxing Competition at the Gaisano Country Mall on Sunday.

Former Cebu bets Wilbeth Loberanis and James Bacon pulled convincing victories in separate weight categories to lead Tagbilaran City.

The 48-kilogram Loberanis showed his might with a clear 3-0 win over Kevin Baunsit of Mandaue City while Bacon silenced Ramy Crisostomo of Bacolod in the 57kgs class.

The five other entries of Tagbilaran also scored a 3-0 win against their respective opponents with 34kgs Bernard Torres defeating Dan Lou Codilla of Cebu City as 36kgs Gino Cabugngan went too much for Mandaue's Brandon Tabares.

Pawel Balaba overpowered Donald Tubod also of Cebu City in the 39kgs class, Jomar Cordillo beat Tubod's teammate Jefferson Barriaga in the 42kgs class and Eugene Ladesa dumped Arde Boyose in the 30kgs division.

Also, the returning Gerald Nietes of Bacolod City was stopped by Cebu City's Joseph Von Minoza, 44 seconds in the second round in the 51kgs division.

Jomari Yuson of Cebu City also earned a 3-0 mark against Tagbilaran's Odtohan.
