Lumindas-Getaruelas is top bet in Midnight Run

Leizel Lumindas-Getaruelas will try to snatch the crown in the women's division when the 2007 Arthro-Cebu Midnight Run fires off in front of the City Sports Club Cebu at the Cebu Business Park.

Lumindas-Getaruelas is the top lady runner to beat as she bids to start year 2007 with a bang, eyeing no less than the championship title against other contenders namely Mary Rose Arman of University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), Madelyn Carter and Merlita Arias.

Over in the men's division, it will be a battle between defending champion Rogelio Reli of the Philippine Army, Mendel Lopez of USPF and Joel Delposo, a fast-rising high school footracer from the municipality of Badian.

The race will be flagged off at midnight and the runners will take a 5-kilometer race route located within the vicinity of the Cebu Business Park.

The awarding ceremonies will follow immediately at the City Sports Club Cebu.

One of the major sponsors of the race is Artho, a food supplement that combats arthritis. It is distributed by former Cebu City Sports Commission chairman Jonathan Guardo.
