Team Kalit wins team time trial in Cebu Cycling

Team Kalit lived up to its top billing as it zooming ahead to win the team time trial the other day covering Danao City to Lugo and back in the Cebu Cycling Classic.
Kalit dominated both classes B and C as one of the most promising racer Ramsey Villaver holds on to the driver's seat even after suffering a mechanical trouble in the second stage.
On top of the five participating teams, Danao fielded two guest teams, the Danao City Mayor's office, headed by Mayor Ramon "Nito" Durano III and the Danao City Sports Commission, headed by councilor Boying Rodriguez.
In class B, Kalit, which is led by 1986 Marlboro Tour champion Rolando Pagnanawon, was clearly the favorite going in to the race and lived up expectations as they beat Lapu-Lapu-Rut by almost a minute after averaging close to 40kph even with a strong headwind after the turning point in Catmon.
Kalit clocked one hour and two minutes for the victory.
Lapu-Lapu-RUT trailed in 1:02.50 as Spark Kleen came out third in 1:03.36.
Quickflight Racing-J Marketing was fourth with 1:04.59, Gwaping at fifth spot with 1:07.44 and the Social Climbers at sixth spot with 1:07.48.
In class C, Kalit grabbed the top post in 1:05:15.
Mayor Durano and his team came out second in 1:07.16 as Monas settled third with 1:08.01.
Atbog was at fourth place with 1:08.19, Lapu-Lapu-Rut were fifth with 1:09.29, SC at sixth with 1:09.42 and Danao Sports Commission placing seventh with 1:20.53.
In the overall team standings, after two stages, Kalit leads class B and C with 74 points.
Kalit's Ramsey Villaver now has 50 points in class B's overall standings even as suffering a loosed chain he suffered after the turning point.
Villaver's teammates Junjun Canasa and Rolando Pagnanawon occupy the second and third spots with 49 and 43 points, respectively in the event supported by Miguel Flores, Vellum, South Jersey Cycling, Danao City led by Mayor Ramon "Nito" Durano III, councilor Boying Rodriguez, Richard Clarke, Mark Ylanan and RECYCLE.
