8th Ornopia cup motocross series: No pain, go gain for I. Uypitching

After the bitter pain of injury comes sweet success for Irwin Ramas-Uypitching.
The visiting rider from Dumaguete City endured the leg injury he suffered during the practice run on the way to wresting the premiere experts title of the well-attended 8th Ornopia Cup, the first leg of the MS Motosuit Motocross Series at the beautiful natural terrains of Calambua, San Remigio.
Uypitching of RUSI Racing Team was limping and even asked for a pain reliever prior to the race proper.
That, however, did not dampen Uypitching's spirits to claim the top post. Lap after lap, he maintained a good lead to cross the finish line first in the 10-lap action covering 1.5 kilometers per lap.
Power Sports Racing had a 2-3 finish behind the efforts of Jubenile Abellar and Jon-jon Adlawan.
Though missing the experts crown, the Mobil-1 2T and Oz Racing sponsored-Adlawan still has something to cheer for as he topped the novice production event.
Adlawan defeated another Abellar, Joshua, while Mark Paul Inoc placed third.
Like Adlawan, Inoc bounced back from a third place finish to win the top post in the beginners production over Jessie Sanchez and Norman Pautan.
Jubannie Abellar saved his siblings from going home empty-handed by seizing the intermediate class title over his younger brother Joshua, while Adam Ramas-Uypitching ended third.
Chai Hong Sy added impact to PSR's bid by lording it over in the novice open enduro title over Leo Ledesma as Adam Ramas-Uypitching grabbed another third place trophy.
Former peewee standout Jon-Jon Flores, on the other hand, showed some promise in the higher class as he ruled the mini division in convincing fashion, beating the lone female rider Samantha Abellar of PSR and Ken Canape.
Aloy Igot and Rudy Nadela also had a share of the limelight by topping the executives A and B, respectively.
Igot survive a tough battle against STSI Racing's Nonoy Reluya and the ever-daring Monching Povadora, while in the executives B, Nadela bested Nelson Sicad and Norbing Comendador.
Leo Ledesma poured all his energy left in the local enduro to defeat STSI's Rolly dela Calzada, while the third place honors went to Julis Cabrera.
The beginner's B saw Adonis Famador on top, while Jubal "Buyog" Abellar Jr. and Julius Cabrera came in second and third in the event sponsored by Cebu Progress Marketing, Pro Grip, F.F.Sibi Enterprises, Inc., F&FO Motor Parts, Norkis Trading, Disston Premium, RMO and Cardoc.
