Don Bosco College and Hiroshi Football Club terminated their respective foes to set up a title showdown in 9th Aboitiz CebuFA Boys-12 Cup at the San Roque Football Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
In yesterday's pair of semifinal matches, Don Bosco hammered Cebu International School with a 3-1 beating, while Hiroshi FC blanked PAREF-Springdale School, 3-0.
With their impressive victories, Don Bosco College and Hiroshi FC earned the right to fight for the championship in a winner-take-all affair next Saturday at the same venue, while CIS and PAREF-Springdale battle for the third place trophy.
The CIS booters were somewhat poised to spring some surprises as they broke the ice
of the match courtesy of Emmanuel Cunningham at the seventh.
But that was CIS' only bright spot as Don Bosco's Winrich Baclay quickly went for the equalizer two minutes later.
Miko Limalima found the back of the net at the 10th, before Miguel Caindec sealed Don Bosco's triumph with a goal at the 15th.
Later in the day, the spirited Hiroshi FC spared no mercy in demolishing the hapless PAREF-Springdale, three goals to none.
Responsible for Hiroshi's scoring rampage were Dan Villarico, Prince Hanes Anthony, and Joseloue Bacunawa, who sank goals at the 20th, 32nd, and 48th, respectively.
