All is set for the First National Bouldering Circuit on Oct. 28-29

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
It's all systems go for the 1st National Bouldering Circuit on October 28 and 29 to be held in a climbing wall to be set-up in a vacant lot along Gorordo Avenue.

Around 50 climbers from all over the country are expected to join the third and final leg.

There are only two divisions in the event namely the men and women's open.

Leading the overall rankings is Miel Fajati and he is trailed by Christian Guerrero and Dennis Diaz. All three are from Manila.

Cebu's Jun Vidal is currently at fourth, but is expected to give his all as he competes in his own turf. Gax Ylanan and Jeff Capilan shared the fifth spot.

In the distaff side, the top contenders for the overall title in the event sanctioned by the Sportsclimbing Association of the Philippines, Inc. (SCAPI) are Manila's Inna Flores, Liza Lesaca, and Iligan's Geselle Lopez.

Angel Pasculado was expected to spearhead the Cebuanas in the event, but organizers during yesterday's press conference at Myra's Penssionne said Pasculado can't make it next week due to an injury.

The event is very important for the participants, not only as this will determine their final standings this year, but this will also be the deciding factor for the composing of the National team for the sportsclimbing and bouldering competition in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games and for next year's Asian X-Games.

The sport of climbing will be a demonstration sport in the 23rd SEA Games in Manila.

Aside from the competition, organizers of the event will also set-up a separate wall for interested individuals who want to try, either in the regular sportsclimbing, which is the safer side in the sport of climbing or in bouldering.

The registration fee for the competition is pegged at P250 while first-timers can also try out in a separate wall. A "crash course" on what to do in climbing the wall for as low as P20, depending upon the number of one's climb, will also be set.

To further spice-up the event, this Monster Radio-presented event will also be featuring some upcoming local bands.
