All set for Full Compact Karate Kickboxing

It's all systems go for the Full Compact Karate Kickboxing regional eliminations at 4 pm tomorrow at the SM City-Cebu Entertainment Center.

A total of 30 kickboxers grouped into 15 pairs are all set for action. The participants are coming from seven clubs that include CMAC, ARKON JUKAI, JUREX, TIGERS, CUMA, ATC and LIGHTNING KICKS.

Event organizer and Lightning Kicks instructor Tito Agujar said that the Cebuanos have bigger chances to dominate the one-day karatefest because they are more trained and exposed to kickboxing.

"The Cebuanos have bigger chances to rule the tournament because they are more trained and more exposed to kickboxing.

In fact, during fiestas, kickboxing is so popular," said Agujar in yesterday's weekly SCOOP-Cebu forum at the Baseline Restaurant.

The top performers in the competition will earn the right to represent Central Visayas in the national grand finals tentatively set next month in Manila.

The national champions will then form part of the RP Team that will compete in the World Championships late this year in Ontario, Canada.
