Alvin Garcia wins Senior Golfers' fellowship tourney

Former Cebu City Mayor Alvin Garcia scored a gross ten-over-par 82 strokes
to bag the overall title of the 3rd 2005 Senior Golfers' Fellowship Tournament played last Monday at the Cebu Country Club.
Garcia, who represented Club Filipino, led all of the winners of the 18-hole tournament organized by the Federation of Philippine Senior Golfers Inc.-Cebu Chapter.
The Young Seniors title went to Eduardo Sy of Alta Vista scoring a net 75 off a gross 91. He won the title via the countback over Rolando Tilos of Mactan, who settled for the 1st runner-up honors. Julius Neri, Sr. of the host club, finished as 2nd runner-up with a net score of 76 beating three players in the countback.
Edged out were Boy alegre, Felipe Cinco, and Samuel Dunque.
The Mature Seniors crown went to David Villono of Alta Vista with a net score of 68 strokes off a gross 86. Katashi Nagata of CCC took the 1st runner-up honors with a net 73 while Ben Gonzales also of CCC was 2nd runner-up with a net 74 after edging Jose Vercide in the countback.
Angel Ocubillo, Jr. of Club Filipino won the Super Seniors plum with a tournament-best net score of 63 strokes. Luis Velez of CCC was 2nd runner-up with a net score of 68 while 3rd runner-up was Hero Kumagai of Mercedes with a net score of 69.
The guest division title went to Aniceto Bacalso of Mactan with a net score of 68 while Vic Ventulan also of Mactan was the runner-up. - NLQ
