Gadgets worth P3M stolen from Danao stores

CEBU, Philippines — Cellphones and electronic gadgets worth an estimated ?3.69 million were stolen from two stores along the National Road in Barangay Sabang, Danao City, Cebu, last Thursday morning, October 8.
Two suspects were arrested following a follow-up investigation and hot-pursuit operation by the Danao City Police Station, while eight other individuals believed to be involved in the burglaries remain at large.
Police said the suspects forcibly entered the two establishments by breaking their door locks before taking various cellphones and electronic gadgets.
The stolen items from the first store were estimated to be worth ?799,900, while losses from the second establishment reached approximately ?2.9 million, bringing the total estimated value of the stolen merchandise to nearly ?3.7 million.
Through follow-up investigation and a hot-pursuit operation, police traced a van allegedly used by the suspects during the burglaries. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Daanbantayan, Cebu.
The two suspects were later arrested.
Cebu Police Provincial Office director Police Colonel Abubakar Mangelen Jr. said investigators will continue pursuing all leads until the remaining suspects are arrested. — (FREEMAN)
