CEBU, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 7 recorded 160 traffic and transport-related violations during a two-day intensified enforcement operation conducted across the southwestern towns of Cebu Province from July 23 to 24, 2026.

The operation, led by LTO-7 Regional Director Atty. Wendel Dinglasan, resulted in the apprehension of three unregistered motor vehicles and two colorum vans. Authorities also impounded four vehicles for violation of transportation laws.

In their Facebook post, the LTO-7 said the violations included 37 cases under Republic Act (RA) 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code; 71 violations of RA 8750, or the Seat Belts Use Act; and 47 violations of RA 10054, or the Motorcycle Helmet Act. The remaining cases involved other traffic-related offenses.

Dinglasan said the intensified enforcement campaign is part of the agency’s continuing efforts to remove illegal vehicles from the roads, strengthen compliance with transportation laws, and enhance the safety of motorists, passengers, and pedestrians. — (FREEMAN)
