DOH honors CCMC’s commitment to sustainable and safe healthcare

CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has recognized the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) for its commitment to sustainable and safe healthcare.

A plaque of recognition was awarded to CCMC under the prestigious 3–Green Star Rating during the 2025 Green and Safe Health Facilities Recognition held at the Swiss Blulane Hotel in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

CCMC stood out as the only local government unit (LGU)–run hospital in Region VII to be included in the 3-Star Category—a distinction reserved for facilities that demonstrate exceptional compliance with environmentally responsible and safe healthcare systems.

The award highlights the hospital’s dedication to integrating sustainability into its daily operations while ensuring the safety and well-being of both patients and staff.

The Cebu City Government lauded the CCMC team for their steadfast efforts to elevate healthcare services while meeting green and safe facility standards.

“This recognition reflects our city’s resolve to provide quality and sustainable health services for all Cebuanos,” officials said, emphasizing the broader impact of CCMC’s achievement on public trust and community pride.

The award follows CCMC’s active participation in the Philippine Hospital Association’s 76th Annual National Convention and Exhibits held at The Manila Hotel last November 19–22, 2025.

With the theme “Beyond Excellence: Pioneering Sustainable Healthcare Solutions,” the convention underscored the collective drive of hospitals nationwide to advance healthcare innovation and sustainability.

CCMC’s latest accolade adds to its growing list of distinctions. Earlier, the hospital was recognized as one of the Top 5 LGU Hospitals in Region VII during the 2025 Public Health and Universal Health Care Summit at Summit Galleria Cebu.

It also received multiple honors, including three A.R.M.O.R.R.E.D. Awards—Active in Risk Management, Outstanding in Risk Reduction in Emergencies and Disasters—alongside plaques and certificates acknowledging its institutionalized Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health (DRRM-H) system.

These recognitions collectively affirm CCMC’s role as a leading LGU hospital in Central Visayas, excelling not only in healthcare delivery but also in advancing disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and sustainable practices. — /FPL (FREEMAN)
