Go elected as NYML Cebu executive committee chair
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Councilor Harold Kendrick Go has been elected chairman of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) – Provincial Executive Committee for Cebu, marking a defining moment for youth leadership in the province.
The election, held during the NMYL Provincial Assembly in Mandaue City, gathered young elected officials from across Cebu to reorganize the executive committee and chart a new course for civic engagement and legislative collaboration.
“I am thankful to be elected as the Chairman of the National Movement of Young Legislators – Provincial Executive Committee, Province of Cebu,” Go said in a post.
Go thanked his fellow young leaders for the trust while also hoping that they continue to inspire others to make positive changes.
“Thank you to my fellow young leaders for the trust and confidence. Together, let us continue to inspire, serve, and create meaningful change for our people,” he said.
Go, a neophyte councilor and licensed architect from Cebu City, has quickly gained recognition for his inclusive approach to governance and his advocacy for infrastructure, livelihood, and public service reforms.
His election as provincial chairman places him at the helm of Cebu’s youth legislative network, where he is expected to lead initiatives that blend innovation with grassroots impact.
The newly elected slate includes Ronda Councilor Ann Marie Abigail Blanco as Provincial vice chairperson, Danao City Councilor Maryglie Angelie Delicano(Secretary), Santa Fe Councilor James Philip Lao (Assistant secretary), Oslob Councilor Ronamarie Guaren (treasurer), Cordova Councilor Natileigh Marie Therese Sitoy (assistant treasurer), Tabogon Councilor Michale Angelo Pasaol (auditor), and Councilor Joseph Thaddeus Streegan as PRO.
The Provincial Board of Directors are Bantayan Councilor Miguel Pacheco, Consolacion Councilor Miko Mark Ouano, Sibonga Councilor Lorraine Khate Bacaltos, Barili Councilor Shelomith Ann Ewican, Daanbatayan Councilor Louise Marvi Pinos, and Cebu City Councilors Nyza Archival and Jose Lorenzo Abellanosa, San Fernando Councilor Philip Jude Medalla, and Malabuyoc Councilor Nicole Shean Piedad.
The National Movement of Young Legislators is a nationwide organization composed of elected local lawmakers in the Philippines who are aged 40 years or younger.
Established in 1989 under the administration of President Corazon Aquino, through the Presidential Council for Youth Affairs, NMYL was envisioned as a platform to unite and develop principled, proactive, and ethical young leaders in government.
Today, NMYL continues to serve as a vital network for young officials across the country.
It fosters collaboration among local government leagues, youth organizations, and civil society groups, advocating for policies that advance the rights and interests of Filipino youth while strengthening local autonomy and development.
With this new slate of officers, the NMYL Cebu Chapter is poised to amplify youth voices in policymaking, strengthen inter-municipal collaboration, and uphold the values of transparency, service, and civic pride. (CEBU NEWS)
