Sinulog event organizers urged to get permit ahead

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Councilor Philip Zafra has urged event organizers and business establishments planning to hold concerts and parties during the Sinulog 2025 to secure the necessary permits ahead of time for security purposes.

Zafra, who chairs the social welfare cluster of Sinulog Executive Committee, said that preparations are now ongoing wherever the final venue for the next Sinulog will be Cebu City Sports Center or South Road Properties.

Nagsugod na atong pagpangandam, together with the PNP, BFP, Joint task group sa Military-Army, the CCDRMO, CCTO, CHED, Association of Barangay Affairs, Mayor s office and the likes,  Zafra said.

The Sinulog Foundation is looking at around 100 contingents, including floats, higantes and puppeteers.

Zafra said there are so many activities during the Sinulog that it is important for those who want to organize an event to get a permit early.

Zafra said it is important for them to know about the events ahead of time for the necessary security preparations.

Thru this, mahibaw o masayod mi unsa na event and asa para maapil sa deployment, para sa security,  Zafra stressed. This is to avoid any untoward incidents like what happened in the past celebrations.

Meanwhile, Zafra challenged the contractor of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit project to finish all construction works along the Osme a Boulevard before the year-ends.
