CEBU, Philippines —  To speed up the process of recovering city rivers’ three-meter easements, Task Force Gubat sa Baha river commander and PROBE chief Aderson Comar has suggested that the Office of the Building Official (OBO) and other relevant offices dedicate a help desk or a fast lane for establishment owners wanting to demolish illegal structures.

Comar, in an interview with The Freeman, said that the remaining establishments with violations have all expressed to support the city government’s program to recover the river easements.

However, big establishments are still working on their renovation plans that are in-sync with the city government’s plans.

“Actually wala may gahi…Ang mga establishments nga naigo willing man mosupport…Karon, nagpabuhat pa sila’g demolition/renovation plan nga motakdo sa city (plan) and budgetary requirements as well,” Comar said.

Some of them have promised to do it within six months while others are six months to one year from signing its commitment. For the informal settlers, TFGSB is also waiting for the relocation site.

Comar urged OBO and the city engineering office among others to set up a fast lane or help desk to assist the establishments to fast track their demolition and renovation permits.

“Atong awhagon ang OBO ug ang Engineering, naa ganiy magpa kuan og renovation plan, i-fast track lang na kay para man na sa gubat sa baha…Dili langan-langanon,” Comar said.

“Naa silay requirements---makalangan…Naa bay usa ka tawo motutok ana para ma-fast track, daghan baya mang-apply sa OBO, labaw pa’g ting-renewal,” Comar added. (CEBU NEWS)
