Capitol officials now in Mongolia for EATOF
Aside from the tourism and cultural promotion, the Cebu Province delegation will also attend the ceremonial acceptance to host next year’s Standing Committee Meeting and 2026 General Assembly of the EATOF.

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Province will be participating in this year’s 18th General Assembly of the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (EATOF) in the Province of Tuv, Mongolia with Vice Governor Hilario Davide III leading the delegation along with several Provincial Board members.

With the goal to exchange information in cultural and tourism affairs, the delegation led by Davide arrived in Mongolia on Wednesday, July 24.

Davide, together with Provincial Board Members Glenn Anthony Soco, Ricardo “Kuya Nick” Pepito, Raymond Calderon, Atty. Jiembo Borgonia, and Provincial Tourism Officer Maria Lester Ybañez, will attend the three-day forum starting today, July 26 to 28.

The 18th General Assembly of the EATOF 2024 will be attended by 10 Asian countries under the theme of Bridging Global and Local.

In a report by Sugbo News, Capitol’s official media arm, the assembly will be attended by other members including Gangwon, South Korea; Jilin, China; Sarawak, Malaysia; Yogyakarta, Indonesia; Tottori, Japan; Luang Prabang, Laos; Siem Reap, Cambodia; and Quang Ninh, Vietnam.

The report shared that Cebu, as a member of EATOF, will be joining the assembly’s highlights.

These highlights include exchanging of information on tourism policy and industry, and development of joint programs which promote tourism of the individual provinces.

In addition, the delegates will also tackle training, education, and exchange of personnel working in tourism coming from public and private sectors.

Aside from the tourism and cultural promotion, the Cebu Province delegation will also attend the ceremonial acceptance to host next year’s Standing Committee Meeting and 2026 General Assembly of the EATOF.

This will be the second time Cebu will be hosting the General Assembly. The first was in September 2011. — (FREEMAN)
