100 couples say “I do” in Cordova town

CEBU, Philippines — Love filled the air in Cordova town as 100 couples said “I do” with Cordova Mayor Cesar Suan officiating the wedding ceremony held at Solea Resort Mactan.

The mayor said that was the biggest free wedding ceremony held in Cebu with 90 percent of the couples getting married having been together for more than five years.

The municipal government has allocated P700,000 for the event which includes wedding cake for every couple.

The ceremony and reception was attended by the couple’s friends and relatives, with each couple allowed to bring eight guests, as well as several municipal officials.

Suan advised the newly-wed to remain faithful, be respectful and love each other in bad times and in good times.

“Ang kaminyuon walay guarantee. Ang kaminyuon walay ilisay kung moingon mo nga masayop mo,” said the mayor as he wish the newly-married couple a lifetime of happiness. — (FREEMAN)
