Radaza: Rival out to raid our house

Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Lapu-Lapu City mayoralty bet Arturo “Boy” Radaza has remained unfazed on the information that he received that his house will be raided by his political opponent.

“Ako nidagan ko og mayor unya inyo kong hadlukon? Never!” said Radaza in an interview after the miting de avance of Team Deretso the other night.

Radaza said that he received an information that his house and that of his vice mayoralty candidate Harry Don Radaza will be raided by mayoralty candidate and Pajo Barangay Captain Junard “Ahong” Chan.

The former mayor and congressman of the lone district in Lapu-Lapu City said that they are prepared and watchful in case the raid will actually happen.

“Kay lisod na matinuod ang raid ug planteran sila og armas ug drugas. Hasta ang among mga sakyanan, amo gyud bantayan kay sudlan unya na nila og drugas,” Radaza said.

“Daug na man mi daan, nganong mangita pa man mi og gubot. Kana si Ahong mao gyud gusto nga magubot ang Lapu-Lapu. Anything pwede nila buhaton. Maghimo gyud na sila og scenario aron magubot,” said the 71-year-old Radaza.

Chan, for his part, has strongly denied Radaza’s accusation.

“Wala jud koy kalibutan sa iyang gipanulti. Mas maayo pa siya kay nakabalo pa siya,” Chan said.

Meanwhile, the Team Deretso headed by Radaza and his wife, incumbent Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza, who is seeking a congressional seat, as well as the entire slate, held their miting de avance the other night.

About 25,000 supporters joined the rally, including the 28 of the 30 barangay captains in the city.
