Fake cop nabbed with gun, drugs
CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher pretending as police officer was arrested Friday evening in Sitio Rattan, Barangay Tanke, Talisay City.
Alberto Ator Jr., 32, resident of Sitio Kawayan, Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City, was caught in possession of 13 packs of shabu and a caliber .45 pistol with six rounds of ammunition.
Senior Police Office 2 Jeffrey Diola said the people in Barangay Tanke called for assistance after an armed person claiming to be a policeman was threatening the residents. The suspect was reportedly extorting cash from the people.
"Nagpaila kuno ni siya nga pulis unya nanghadlok sa mga tawo, mo-demand dayon ug cash," Diola said.
The suspect tried to escape on board a motorcycle after he noticed the presence of the police. He was cornered and arrested by the responding policemen.
The police are already preparing the filing of criminal complaints against the suspect. (FREEMAN)
