Survey result shows charges don’t affect public – Binay

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay continues to lead among the presidential hopefuls in the recently released Pulse Asia Survey.

“Ito ay nagpapatunay lamang na ang taumbayan ay hindi naniniwala sa mga kasinungalingan nila,” said Binay, referring to those who continue to hurl graft and corruption charges against him.

According to Binay, his rating did not go down despite almost a year of getting battered with corruption charges.

“Alam ng taong bayan na ang lahat ng ito ay politically-motivated at mga pawang kasinungalingan,” Binay further said in a press conference with Cebu media.

Binay said that as of now, he has no runningmate yet, although Senator Grace Poe, former senator Panfilo Lacson and even Mar Roxas, the secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government, are being considered.

Binay said he still has no complete slate for the senatorial position.

In a separate interview, Senator Nancy Binay is thankful to the Filipino people that despite all the accusations hurled against his father, the vice president remains the top presidential contender.

“Maligaya po kami at kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa mga tao na hindi sila naniniwala sa mga akusasyon laban sa aking ama. Alam naman po natin na kung hindi siya tatakbo bilang presidente, hindi nila kami gaganituhin,” said the lady senator.

Pinaghandaan na namin ito na ganito talaga ang politics. Pero siyempre masakit pa rin pag nandiyan na,” she added.

The lady senator accompanied her father yesterday in distributing relief goods to fire victims in barangays Apas, Kamputhaw, and Basak-Pardo.

The vice president also had a boodle fight in Barangay Apas. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/NSA (FREEMAN)
