CEBU, Philippines - Three persons were arrested and 26 small packs of suspected shabu confiscated in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu Province on Thursday.

In Barangay Sta. Cruz, San Francisco town, a suspected drug pusher was arrested while his two companions eluded arrest in a buy-bust operation Thursday evening.

Eighteen small sachets of suspected shabu were seized by the police from Vegil Argallon, 25, inside his residence. Also recovered from the suspect were several drug paraphernalia, a .357 cal. revolver with three live rounds and the P500 cash used in the operation.

After police confirmed the suspect was selling illegal drugs in his residence, they immediately set up a buy-bust operation and arrested him after he sold five small packs of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.

Argallon’s companions, Jay-ar Andrade and Ruben Ostria, were able to escape during the operation

The suspect is currently detained in the San Francisco Police Station while a follow-up operation is being conducted to arrest Andrade and Ostria.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Rivera, 39, was arrested after he was found with five small packs of suspected shabu in Barangay Cadaruhan, Borbon town, Cebu Thursday morning.

Rivera was reportedly selling illegal drugs in the place when the police caught him in the act and immediately arrested him. The police also confiscated the P200 cash used during the operation.

The suspect is currently detained in Borbon Police Station detention cell.

In another incident, at least three small packs of suspected shabu were recovered by the police from Neil Rosaceña, 42, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Daanbantayan town, Cebu Thursday morning.

Rosaceña reportedly sold a small pack of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.

The suspect was immediately arrested and two other packs of suspected shabu were seized from him after he was frisked.

All the arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9610 or the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002. — Xenia Maureen Arda, USJ-R Masscomm intern/BRP (FREEMAN)
