CEBU, Philippines - Around P270,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated from two suspected drug pushers in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu City.

Operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task apprehended Francis Philip Nacar, 47, in his house at Sitio Cogon, A. Lopez Street, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City yesterday morning after he handed one small pack of suspected shabu to a police decoy.

The police also recovered another two medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu, 70 small packs of suspected shabu, and P3,200 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal operations.

All the illegal drugs seized from Nacar were estimated to reach P200,000.

CAIDSOTF chief Senior Inspector Eunil Avergonzado said that they learned of Nacar’s illegal drug trade after some parents living in the area complained against him.

He added that they placed Nacar under surveillance for three weeks. He also said that Nacar is considered to be a level two drug pusher who can dispose not more than a kilo of illegal drugs every week.

Nacar is temporarily detained at the Cebu City Police Office.

Meanwhile, Richard Plando, 25, was arrested in his residence at Block 7, Sawang Calero, Cebu City Sunday morning by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Soliver Peras of the Regional Trial Court Branch 10 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Police confiscated two medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu, 31 pieces small packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia during the raid.

San Nicolas Police Station chief, Senior Inspector Chuck Barandog, said that Plando is considered to be a level three drug pusher. All the drugs recovered from Plando is estimated to reach P70,000.

“On and off siya before sa illegal drug trade. Nibalik siya pagka-full blown this December mao gi-apply-an nato og search warrant,” he said.

He added that Plando was under surveillance for two weeks prior the operation after they received information that the latter is engaged in selling illegal drugs in the area.

Barandog disclosed that Plando was already arrested two years ago for the same violation but was able to post bail.

Plando was immediately detained at the San Nicolas Police Station.
