Road accident leaves man dead

CEBU, Philippines - A 23-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a bus Friday dawn in Aloguinsan town.

The victim was identified as Roy Dealagdon, of Purok 5, Barangay Poblacion, in the same town. Dealagdon was declared dead on arrival at the hospital where he was rushed after the accident at 3 a.m. because of severe injuries.

The bus driver, Alejandro Nator, 58, of Barangay Malolos, Barili town, surrendered to the police. He is currently under custody at the Aloguinsan Police Station and is expected to face on Monday a criminal complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.

Initial investigation shows that Dealagdon was driving his motorcycle heading south when he collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction.

Further investigation is being conducted to determine who was at fault. (FREEMAN)
