CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Police Office is now hunting down two persons as possibly behind the robbery and killing of florist Daniel “Jun” Cañete.
Superintendent Romeo Santander, City Intelligence Branch chief, said they are now looking for the two men whom witnesses saw on Sunday and on Monday dawn outside the victim’s shop, shortly before the victim was killed.
CIB and the Theft and Robbery Section have been talking to Cañete’s neighbors and employees and a member of his family for the possible identification of the perpetrators.
Based on the post-mortem examination, the victim, who was stabbed on his stomach several times, died around 3 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. on Monday.
At that time, neighbors heard someone screaming but did not mind until they discovered in the morning that the florist had been killed.
The victim’s P250,000 cash and personal belongings, including two laptops, a tablet and three cellular phones have been missing.
A 16-year-old boy was earlier held for questioning after witnesses told police that he might have knowledge as to who is responsible for the florist’s death. He was released afterwards.
