2 ‘pushers’ fall in drug bust
CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher in Barangay Duljo-Fatima was arrested Friday evening during a raid conducted by the Cebu City Police Office.
The police also seized 32 packs of shabu worth at least P50,000 from Oliver “Barok” Manayon, 42, of Sitio Micabaja.
The suspect was subject of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 18 Judge Gilbert Moises for violation of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Manayon had been under police surveillance few days before the raid because of information that he is into illegal drug trade. Aside from Manayon, the police also arrested Ranilo Dalis for sniffing shabu. He was caught in the act of using drugs during the operation.
The police recovered the 32 packs of shabu placed in a case of sunglasses inside Manayon’s house. Several drug paraphernalia were also recovered during the raid.
Meanwhile, suspected drug pusher James Castallanes, 30, of Sitio Pajo, Barangay Poblacion, Tabuelan was arrested during a buy-bust operation Friday afternoon.
Seized from Castallanes were two packs of shabu and the P500 buy-bust money. The operation was led by Inspector Welther Grapa.
Grapa said the suspect will be facing criminal charges for violation of sections 5 and 11, Article 2 of R.A. 9165. (FREEMAN)
