CEBU, Philippines - Two people died in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City yesterday involving a technician and a tricycle driver.

A 48-year-old technician was shot dead by one of his alleged customers whom he had previous fight with in Sitio Huyong-Huyong, Barangay Mambaling yesterday.

Edgardo Inot, 48, of Sitio Pungtod, Barangay Mambaling, was about to fetch his five-year-old daughter at school when an unidentified gunman whom he met in the corner suddenly shot him in the head.

Inspector Eugene Raganas said based on their initial investigation, the victim could have known the suspect because the former immediately turned his back when he saw the latter when they met at the said corner.

“Posible ni sila nga magkaila kay pagkakita sa biktima sa suspect dali man siya mitalikod ug maong napusilan siya sa luyong bahin sa iyang ulo,” said Raganas.

Inot sustained a gunshot wound on the back portion of his head with the bullet exiting from his nose.

Police Officer 3 Leroy Baguio of the Homicide Section said they are still looking into the possibility that the victim and the suspect were acquainted to each other.

Nearby residents who witnessed the shooting said the gunman was tall, skinny and was covering his face.

Lovely Lago, Inot’s neighbor in Sitio Pungtod, said the victim had a heated argument with a customer last week. The customer had his computer set repaired by Inot but the reason of their fight was unknown.

The 14-year-old daughter of Inot said her father did not have enemies and didn’t even frequently go out of their house before his death.

Inot’s two other daughters were speechless and still apparently in trauma when The FREEMAN tried to ask them about their father.

The body of the victim was brought to St. Francis Funeral Homes.

Meanwhile, a tricycle driver died after he was shot by an unidentified assailant riding a motorcycle past 1 p.m. yesterday in Sitio Magtinabangay, Barangay Tisa.

Homicide investigators identified the victim as Rogelio Lucino, 32, of Barangay Tisa.

Police Officer 1 Joel Zamora of the Homicide Section said the victim was sitting in his tricycle when an unidentified man riding a motorcycle came and shot him three times before fleeing.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds on his back and was immediately brought to Cebu City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

Police recovered two empty shells of .45 cal. pistol at the crime scene.

Zamora said they could not establish the motive of the killing for now since the identity of the killer is still unknown.

Homicide investigators are now waiting for the family of the victim for additional information, but they are now looking into the possibility of personal grudge as the shooting’s motive.  (FREEMAN)
