SC rep inspects justice building
CEBU, Philippines - For the second time, Supreme Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez yesterday visited and inspected the Marcelo Fernan Hall of Justice at the Capitol compound in Cebu City.
In an interview, Marquez said there was no final decision yet as to what should be done with the building after it was severely damaged by the Oct. 15 earthquake and struck Cebu and Bohol.
“So ngayon we are still evaluating and assessing if we will renovate or rebuild or look for a new Hall of Justice,†he said.
He said he came to Cebu to finalize everything, and added that judges and court employees would be transferred hopefully by the end of the week.
Judges and court employees are currently occupying tents placed outside the building after the Cebu City Office of the Building Official declared it unsafe for occupancy. — (FREEMAN)
