Capitol overseas job fair to go on Sunday

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Public Employment Services Office (PESO) of the Cebu Provincial Capitol has announced that the scheduled overseas job fair on Sunday will push through.

The PESO office is among those relocated at the parking area at the Capitol compound after the main building was temporarily vacated due to damages brought by the earthquake last Tuesday.

PESO Capitol employment officer-designate, Julius Chua, said that the parking lot just beside the Cebu CFI Cooperative building will be used as the venue of the job fair instead of the usual Capitol Social Hall.

It was noticed that applicants were still trooping to register at the temporary office with tent yesterday.

Chua said that 26 licensed agencies are confirmed to participate in the overseas job fair.

He said that more than 1,000 job seekers are expected to try their luck to get job abroad on Sunday.

The overseas job fair is the second for this year while a local one will be held on December 1 to be the last for this year.

PESO Capitol is set to have three job fairs each for overseas and local per year. (FREEMAN)
