CCPO Revamp affects 10 police chiefs

CEBU, Philippines - Ten police chiefs from the Cebu City Police Office were affected by the major reassignment implemented by Senior Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, CCPO director, to improve the administrative and operational capability of the headquarters. Eight chief inspectors, two senior inspectors and an inspector, who were reportedly serving more than two years, as the mandatory term of duty to their units, prompted Buenafe to implement the reassignment.

Buenafe admitted that some of the police chiefs were not competent enough to do their jobs in fighting against criminality based on the evaluation and crime statistics.

The said revamp took effect last Wednesday.

Among those who were affected by the reassignment was Chief Insp. Alexis Relado of the Pari-an Police Station and reassigned to the Administrative Holding Group; Chief Insp. Aileen Recla will replace Relado as officer-in-charge of the Pari-an Police Station from being the chief of the Punta Princesa Police Station.

Chief Insp. Enrique Belciña, of the Guadalupe Police Station, will serve as OIC of the Mabolo Police Station; Sr. Insp. Jul Mohammad Jamiri, of the Crime Against Persons Desk, is transferred as chief of the Pardo Police Station; Chief Insp. Gualberto Gabales, of the Mambaling Police Station is assigned at the Police Community Relations Branch.

Chief Insp. Renero Agustin, of the Cebu City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group is transferred to the Punta Princesa Police Station; Chief Insp. Melbert Glade Esguerra, of the Pardo Police Station will replace Gabales as OIC of the Mambaling Police Station.

Chief Insp. Sara Jean Recla has replaced Jamiri as OIC of the CAPED; Sr. Insp. Pablito Sarno, deputy chief of the Pari-an Police Station, is now assigned at the Waterfront Police Station; and Insp. Reynaldo Valmoria of the Cebu City Intelligence Branch is now the OIC of the CAIDSOTG.  (FREEMAN)
