Talisay City Police Office best among CV cities

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Police Office bested 12 other police stations in the Component City category in the entire Central Visayas as the Best Police Station based on its administrative and operational accomplishments.

The TCPO was awarded by the Police Regional Office-7 last Monday at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino Lahug during the closing ceremonies of the 111th Police Service Anniversary.

The said police station solved 100 percent of its high-profile cases in 2011.

Supt. Eddie Recamara, TCPO chief, thanked his personnel for working together to solve crimes in the city.

“Makita gyud nimo ang serbisyo nga naay pagkukusa, (You can really see service with initiative),” Recamara said in a phone interview.

Recamara also thanked Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Patrocinio Comendador for guiding them.

“Magtinabangay lang gyud mi to reduce crime volume (We will really help each other to reduce crime volume)” Recamara added.

Early this month, CPPO held the first Police Olympics which is set to end this week. The activity was aimed towards the enhancement and specialization skills of the PNP.

The Olympics has eight different categories that are opened to more than 1,600 CPPO personnel.

The categories included Best in Affidavit Writing, Police Personnel with Most Number of Arrests, best in the Conduct of High and Low Risk Checkpoints, Best in Handcuffing Techniques, Best Handgun Shooter, Best in Proper Uniform, Best Police Patrol Car and Best Tourist Police.

In line with the celebration, Camp Crame chose Insp. Norman Nuez, chief of the Danao Police Station, Bohol Provincial Police Office, as 3rd Lead PNP Award: Serbisyong May Pagkukusa for Chiefs of Police.

A plaque of Heroism was also given to PO2 Elrich Jourdin Catacutan, of the Cebu City Police Office, PRO-7.— (FREEMAN)
