CEBU, Philippines - A man who was believed to have been a victim of summary execution was found dead in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla early morning yesterday.

Police remain clueless on the identity of the victim who succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.

It was around 6:00 in the morning when the police received a telephone call from a concerned citizen informing them of a dead person.

The victim was described to be about 25 to 30 years old with dark complexion, wearing a black T-shirt and a navy blue pair of shorts, and was still wearing a full-faced helmet.

Police only recovered an empty shell of a .45 caliber pistol, two helmets, a cellular phone and a wallet containing a driver’s license bearing the name Reslester Limpio, 23, of Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Also found about ten meters away from the body was a Honda Wave motorcycle bearing plate number 4373IR with a certificate of registration under the name of Jeracil Baoy, of Barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City.

Residents at the place revealed they noticed somebody arrived at the scene onboard a motorcycle at around 8:00 in the evening and a few minutes later, a single burst of gunfire rang out.

The next morning, they found the victim in a pool of blood.

SPO1 Renato Masangcay, Minglanilla police investigator, said they are conducting a follow-up investigation to identity the victim and to determine the motive of the killing.

The body was taken to the Mountain View Funeral Homes in Barangay Inayagan, Toledo City for autopsy. — (FREEMAN)
