City buses now with brgys

- The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - Councilors Rodrigo Abellanosa and Augustus Jun Pe lost an executive function after Mayor Michael Rama reassigned management of the city’s Kaohsiung buses from them to the Barangay Affairs Unit handled by Andrew Borres.

Rama’s chief of staff Philip Zafra said there is no politicking in move as they were just returning the management of the buses to BAU to sort the processing of requests.

“Dili man na pamolitika, gituyo lang na namo kay ari ra man gihapon modangop ang mga tawo kung mo-request og bus. Amo lang gibuhat kung unsay sakto,” said Zafra.

Since most of the requests for the buses are from the barangays, Borres clarified that it was just placed in his department so requests will be centralized.

The city has 20 Kaohsiung buses.

“Ang mo-request gyud sa mga buses, kay taga-barangay man, maong gibutang na dinhi sa atong office ang pag-facilitate sa mga request,” Borres said.

Zafra added that it will be easy for BAU to monitor the requests since barangay officials always approach BAU if they need something.
