Indian arrested for selling marijuana
CEBU, Philippines - An Indian student pilot was placed under arrest for selling marijuana during a buy-bust operation last Friday night.
Vaibhav Rana of legal age, a resident of Villa del Rio, Barangay Talamban was apprehended by elements of the Regional Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (RAIDSOT) – 7.
Rana was arrested immediately after receiving the marked money from the poseur buyer. He did not resist arrest when he was surrounded by covert operatives.
Recovered from the suspect were dried marijuana kept inside a plastic bag together with a ceramic pipe used to sniff the drug. The contraband was estimated at around P5,000.
Rana, who also work as a yoga instructor, was placed under surveillance for a few days prior to the operation. Police said they received information about Rana’s illegal activities from a concerned citizen.
Rana is enrolled at an aviation school in Mandue City.
Investigators are still indentifying Rana’s source of the drug. — (FREEMAN)
