Two killed in shooting incidents

- Jeffrey John G. Bungcasan -

CEBU, Philippines - Two men were shot to death in separate incidents in San Regimio and Argao last Tuesday.

In Argao, Terso C. Zamora of Barangay Usmad were having dinner beside the highway with Michael E. Villafuerte, 34 and Jesie G. Fameron, 29 when a gunman onboard a motorcycle shot at them.

Zamora was hit in the head and back portion. He died on the spot. Villafuerte was wounded in the mouth while Fameron was hit at his fingers and right foot.

Villafuerte and Fameron were taken to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital for medical treatment and were later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

The victims had no idea who shot them as they had their back to the gunmen. Policemen are still investigating the incident.

In San Remigio, Medison Brignas Aton alias Madison, 42, of Barangay Bagtic San Regimio did not reach the Cebu Provinicial Hospital-Bogo alive.

A concerned citizen reported to the San Regimio Police Station that he heard a burst of gunfire at around 7 p.m. and when he checked it out, he saw Brignas lying on the ground and a man fleeing on board a motorcycle which was parked meters away from the crime scene.

Police believe that revenge or illegal drugs could have been the motive for the shooting.
