CEBU, Philippines - Personal grudge led to the killing of a 21-year-old man in Sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Balao, Barili Sunday afternoon.
The victim, Jonathan “Atan” Torquedo, was heading towards Barangay Poblacion when he was shot by two men using an unknown caliber of firearm.
Torquedo succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, causing his instantaneous death.
Still subject of a manhunt operation are Ronnie Fat and Dansoy Avila of Barangay Bulak, Dumanjug.
Initial police investigation revealed that Torquedo was walking towards the market. The suspects reportedly tailed him before they opened fire.
Sr. Insp. Marlon Gumabao, Barili Police Station chief, said personal grudge was the motive behind the killing. He said Torquedo once shot a relative of the suspects in Dumanjug.
Gumabao, however, did not get the exact detail if the person was killed or not since the incident happened outside his jurisdiction.
He said the Dumanjug Police Station once coordinated with them on the incident.
The Barili police are now coordinating with the Dumanjug police on the whereabouts of the suspects. (FREEMAN)
