Teenager stabs man who hit him

CEBU, Philippines - A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he stabbed his elderly neighbor who spanked his chest during a drinking session in sitio Bliss, Barangay Labangon last Saturday night.

The minor, a 3rd year high school student, stabbed the back of 47-year-old Arcadio “Ardie” Masucol.

According to the police investigation, the victim, apparently drunk, spanked the chest of the suspect with an open hand while they were drinking at 10 p.m.

Hurt, the suspect ran and went to his father and uncle who were working at a car repair shop. After narrating what happened to him, the suspect went home and took a knife.

He then met the victim again outside the house, wherein the victim allegedly tried to attack him. This allegedly prompted the suspect to stab the victim on his back.

The victim ran and sought assistance from his sister Flordelisa and her husband Michael Cataluna.

The two took Masucol to the Cebu City Medical Center while the suspect was accompanied by his father to the barangay hall to surrender.

The barangay’s GAD focal is now in charge of the suspect who will be spared from any criminal cases because of his age.

Meanwhile, a man was hurt when an unidentified robber punched him before taking his motorcycle along Salinas Drive, Barangay Lahug, last Saturday morning.

Rocel Garcia, 34, a resident of Opra, Barangay Kalunasan was injured on the face. He also lost his red and black colored Mio motorcycle. The motorcycle bore plate numbers 8456 FI.

The victim, investigation showed, has just finished drinking with his co-worker at a bar at 2:30 a.m. when a man appeared and suddenly grabbed his right hand as he was about to ride on his motorcycle.

The man punched him and took the key of his motorcycle from his hand.

The robber fled with the motorcycle while the victim was left behind dumbfounded. He later reported the incident to the police. — (FREEMAN)
