CEBU, Philippines - Drug paraphernalia were recovered from four men who were arrested in a saturation drive conducted by the City Intelligence Branch in Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City at around 11:00 the other night.
Arrested were Ricardo Cajuelan, 34 and Zaldy Masqueda,38 residents of Barangay Basak-San Nicolas; Arbie Dechos, 32 and Jonel Bilerin, 23, of Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.
Recovered from each of the suspects were one lighter, one tin foil and tissue paper believed to have been used in a pot session.
Led by Police Chief Inspector Romeo Santander, the CIB operatives were conducting their regular saturation drive when they chanced upon the four suspects in the interior portion of Sitio Kabayaoan, Barangay Duljo-Fatima.
CIB investigator SPO2 Jeffrey Diola told The FREEMAN that they bumped into two of the suspects who immediately ran away.
“Gigukod nila ug dali unya gi kapkapan unya didto nakuha ang mga ebidensya nga nag pamatuod nga tig-gamitan sila ug ginadiling drugas,” Diola said.
The suspects all claimed to be innocent.
Cajuelan, an electrician, married and has three kids said he was just walking with a friend when CIB operatives arrested him.
“Gi-guyod pa jud ko. Nasamad akong tuhod. Wala silay nakuha nako gi posasan lang ko ug diretso nga walay pag duha-duha,” Cajuelan said.
Dechos, who has a one-year-old child with his live-in partner, said he was just sleeping inside his house when operatives poked him with a gun to wake him up.
“Wala gani ko kahibaw kung unsa ang ilang gipasangil nako kay igo ra gud ko natulog sa akong balay unya walay koy kalibutan sa ilang gipasangil.”
The suspects are now detained to the Cebu City Police Office awaiting the filing of charges. (FREEMAN)
