Boy found dead in Consolacion

CEBU, Philippines - A 14-year-old boy was found dead yesterday morning in an under construction subdivision in Barangay Poblacion, Consolacion.

The victim was identified as Joshua Salazar, resident of Barangay Tugbongan in the same town. He was believed to have died of strangulation.

A bystander, who was on his way to the public market at 6:30 a.m., found the half-naked body of Salazar on a supine position.

The victim’s friends said they last saw Salazar having a drinking session with a group of youngsters at 3:30 a.m. near the Sta. Lucia Subdivision where he was found dead.

Dr. Nestor Sator, medico legal officer of the PNP Crime Laboratory-7, told The FREEMAN that Salazar died of strangulation because of the blood inside his mouth.

Sator added that it was also possible that the victim was mauled first because of the contusions on his face and on the head.

“Nakita nako daghan siya ug bun-og agi sa kinulatahan possible gitabangan,” he said.

The police have already invited some persons who may have knowledge of the crime. According to the police, they have not identified any suspect as of now.  (FREEMAN)
