Pasigarbo dancers to get P200T more

CEBU, Philippines -  The Province of Cebu is giving out additional P200,000 each of the contingents in the recently concluded Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival of Festivals.

This is on top of the P300,000 that each contingent already received as financial assistance prior to the staging of the event.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said that last Saturday’s event showed that all contingents “embraced excellence” and deserved to win prompting her to give additional cash assistance.

“You are all winners and we are proud to be Cebuanos,” Garcia said.

The Province has spent millions of funds for assistance and prizes wherein the grand champion received P1.2 million. This year’s grand prize is higher by P200,000 compared to the past three years.

Carcar City ruled this year’s festival as the grand champion followed by Madridejos, Argao, Moalboal, Consolacion, Sibonga, Bantayan, Naga City, Toledo City, Minglanilla, Talisay City and Alcoy.

Other participants were Aloguinsan, Ronda, Bogo City, Dumanjug, Sogod, Badian, Borbon, Tudela, San Remegio, Barili, Dalaguete, Danao City, Alegria, Catmon, Oslob, Samboan, Liloan, Boljoon, Tabuelan, Pilar, San Francisco, Malabuyoc, Santander, Carmen, Poro, Cordova and Ginatilan.

Garcia thanked the officials of the cities and towns who responded her call to “raise the bar” and to “raise for excellence.”

“Pagkalayo na kaayo sa naabtan niining atong paningkamot nga ang Sugbo, ang pinalangga ta’ng Sugbo mipatigbabaw gayud labaw pa sa uban pang lalawigan tungod kay kini atong gimahal busa buhaton ta ang tanan alang sa iyang kalamboan,” Garcia said.
