CCMC gets medical supplies from NGO

CEBU, Philippines - A Cebu-based charity organization donated various medical supplies and equipment to the Cebu City Medical Center to help the hospital improve the quality of services it delivers to indigents of Cebu City.

Mayor Michael Rama and officers of Destiny Medical Fund Inc. represented by Ma. Emma A. Ramas formalized the donation at the Cebu City Hall yesterday.

DMFI donated some 37 items consisting of pediatric supplies, chemotherapy kit, syringes and needles, whirlpool disinfectant cleaner, adult diapers, disposable linens, crochet covers, assorted operating room medical supplies and assorted anesthesia supplies.

Other items include colostomy supplies, suction tubing, nursing medical supplies, operating room table, human lifter, rehabilitation wheel chairs, Intensive Care Unit beds, laboratory supplies, nursing isolation supplies, incontinent medical supplies, physiotherapy supplies, bladder catheters, commodes, urinal and sterile suction tubing.

The items are either used or brand new, which DMFI received from various charitable institutions and organizations such as the Cancer Aid and Research Fund, Christian Children’s Health and Hope Mission and the Universal Aide Society.

Under the Deed of Donation, CCMC is bound to use the items exclusively for charitable purposes.

CCMC OIC Chief of Hospital Eduardo Sedoripa said the donations will help them go a long way in providing quality health care to underprivileged constituents of Cebu City.

DMFI is a non-profit organization focusing on health care and wellness programs. It partners with different agencies and organizations including Local Government Units in reaching its goal.

DMFI targets in particular beneficiaries from far flung areas who have less access to medical care and beneficiaries in areas with high incidence of diseases, poor and marginalized sectors.   - (THE FREEMAN)
