BCLP Cebu City prexy elected nat'l league's VP
CEBU, Philippines - The president of the Barangay Councilors League of the Philippines in Cebu City was elected national vice president for the Visayas during the recently concluded elections of the league held in Manila.
Franklyn Ong, who ran unopposed, said he will take advantage of his position to bring in more projects for the city.
In fact, he already scheduled a self awareness and teambuilding workshop for all barangay councilmen in Cebu City including barangay captains, treasurers and secretaries. The activity will be held starting this month until November.
Mayor Michael Rama approved a P1.5 million budget to defray for the expenses of a two-day seminar workshop and training, which will be facilitated by the Center for Local Governance (CLG) of the Cebu City Resource Management and Development Center (CREMDEC).
The activity will be held at the CREMDEC Training Center in Barangay Taptap.
According to Ong, the two-day training will equip barangay leaders of the knowledge and skills to effectively carry out their duties and responsibilities.
At the end of the 2-day training and workshop, Ong said the participants will know more about their own selves and internalize their values systems to better relate with their group for a more meaningful working relationship. – THE FREEMAN
