CEBU, Philippines - Three men landed in the hospital after a man attacked them with a bladed weapon in Barangay Mabolo last Monday night.
The victims were identified as Allan Sinagan, a student at the University of San Carlos; Sinagan’s cousin Arnold, a call center agent; and Ben Marie Dimaonahay, a technician. The suspect was identified only as a certain “Ekong.”
Dimaonahay said the three of them were sitting and talking to each other beside a store along Sindulan Street while the suspect was washing a vehicle parked across the street. Moments later, the suspect approached them and suddenly stabbed Allan from behind. Arnold tried to help his cousin but was stabbed on his stomach instead. Dimaonahay attempted to get the weapon from “Ekong” but ended up getting stabbed on his left chest.
Police surmise that the suspect got envious of the victims, although the theory remains sketchy. The suspect fled and eluded arrest.
The victims are recuperating at the Perpetual Succour Hospital. – (FREEMAN)
