CEBU, Philippines - A security guard of a bank ended his own life inside his house in Ma. Theresa Village 2, Barangay Guadalupe midday yesterday.
Wilijada Tagapan, 58, a security guard of ASPA Bank, reportedly shot himself following an argument with his wife.
His wife, Edita, 61, said she rushed to the bedroom after she heard a burst of gunfire and found her husband already sprawled on the floor, a gunshot wound on his left temple. The bullet had exited through his right cheek.
Personnel of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit (CSIU) recovered a .38 caliber revolver, five bullets, a bottle of half-consumed Emperador brandy, and a glass from the crime scene.
Investigation showed that the couple argued over personal matters at that time Tagapan was drinking the liquor. They were reportedly comparing each other’s previous marriages, particularly their former partners. Tagapan also reportedly got envious that Edita was giving her grandchild more attention compared to him.
Edita said Tagapan went into the room silently after their argument and it was only moments later that she heard the gunfire. (FREEMAN)
