Two men die in separate shooting incidents

CEBU, Philippines - Two men died in separate shooting incidents in the cities of Carcar and Naga on Thursday.

In Sitio Graje, Barangay Guadalupe, Carcar City, Robert Oacan, 29, resident of the place was shot several times by Renil Tampepe, 19, of Sitio Mainit, while he was sitting in front of a store at 6:30 a.m.

Police said the suspect, who was armed with unknown caliber of firearm, suddenly showed up and shot the victim several times.

The victim was immediately brought to Carcar District Hospital by responding policemen but was dead on arrival.

As a result of the continuous follow up operation, Tampepe surrendered to SPO1 Melinton Agadier Jr. and PO2 Democrito Alcover and was brought at Carcar City Police Station for detention.

Police said the suspect is harboring grudge towards the victim which may have triggered the killing.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man was found dead with gunshot wound to his face in St. Joseph Village, Naga City.

Naga police said the unidentified victim, believed to be in his legal age, dark complexioned, medium built and about 5 feet and 2 inches tall and wearing multiple colored undershirt, died of a single gunshot wound to the left side of his face.

Based on account of some residents, between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m., they heard a gun burst nearby followed by the sound of motorcycle speeding away.

The victim’s body was found by residents slumped on the road.

The police received the information on the incident at 7 a.m. and immediately starting investigating but they remain clueless on both the identity of the victim and the perpetrators.

The victim’s body was brought to Mountain View Funeral Homes for an autopsy. (FREEMAN)
