CEBU, Philippines - A farmer was shot dead by still unidentified assailant in Barangay Gimamaa, Tuburan while another farmer died after falling from a tree in Barangay Agsungot, Cebu City.
Henry Banos, 50, of Sitio Kapihan, Barangay Gimamaa in Tuburan was plowing his farm at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday when the unidentified gunman shot him in the nape. His dead body was later found by barangay tanods Pedro Capuyan and Zaldy Banos.
Thelma, victim’s wife, said she heard gunshot from the farm where her husband was but she just ignored it. At 1:00 p.m. she was surprised when one of their neighbors informed her that her husband was shot.
The members of the Tuburan police are facing blank wall in the investigation because nobody has witnessed the incident.
Meanwhile, Teofilo Bravo Baguio, 47, single, of Sitio Agnawe in Barangay Agsungot Cebu City, died after falling from a coconut tree.
Baguio’s brother, Rogelio, said his younger brother was gathering coconut wine when the incident happened.
Baguio was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival. (FREEMAN)
