CEBU, Philippines - The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) has conducted yesterday a three-day consultation workshop to develop the second National Plan Action for Children (NPAC) from the year 2011 to 2016.
The NPAC will focus on child protection with policies that will serve as guide for participating government agencies.
Members of the Regional Sub Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) from the different agencies in Region VI, VII, and VIII as well as regional directors of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Visayas participated in the event.
The workshop also discussed the legal policy framework for children’s rights, assessment of the 2005-2010 NPAC, regional dimensions on situation of women and children, data and challenges, and the proposed general goals and strategies for the national plan. — (FREEMAN)
