Man dies as motorcycle bumps into parked bus

MANILA, Philippines - A 21-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding hit a parked bus along the National Highway of Barangay Sangi, Toledo City about 1:50 a.m. yesterday.

Declared dead on arrival by attending physician at Toledo City District Hospital was Ramil Ignalig, a resident of Juan Climaco Sr., barangay Magdugo.

Police said Ignalig was traveling towards Barangay Magdugo from Barangay Poblacion on board a Honda Wave motorcycle without a plate number when he bumped into a Canoneo Bus bearing plate number GVW 991.

Ignalig was reportedly traveling in a high speed and did not wear a helmet.

Police said Ignalig hit the back of the bus and was thrown few meters away from his motorcycle.

The victim sustained severe injuries to different parts of his body. Bystanders immediately attended to him and called for police assistance.

The driver of the bus and his companion, who were sleeping inside the vehicle, were awakened by a loud smash outside.

Senior Police Officer 4 Gil Lastimosa said the victim was driving recklessly.

“Walay ma-consider nga suspect kay iya ra man gyud to,” Lastimosa said.  (FREEMAN NEWS)
